the motor on my rear hatch is stuck in the closed position. 87 IROC-Z. Any tips to correct this would be great.

You mean the motor won't raise the latch up? You can still open the hatch? You probably need a new sensing switch : http://www.top-downsolutions.com/pro...products_id=61
