Does anyone make a higher stall converter for a 95Z that still keeps the lockup feature? What is the transmission type in a stock 95Z, 4L60?

There should be some converters that will allow you to keep lockup, go to summit or somplace like that and search around for a while to see what you find, also i think the auto tranny that is in the 95 was the 4L60E

      It's a 4L60E. As far as a lockup converter, I recommend a Vigilante.

        Precision Industries
        Yank
        TCI
        B&M
        Performance Automotive and Transmission(transmissioncenter.net)
        TCS
        Pro Torque
        Coan
        Neal Chance
        Edge Racing Converters

There are tons more, that's just all I can think of off the top of my head. The CC is controlled by the TCC Solenoid and PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) systems within the transmission itself and the PCM. Most of the newer and better TC's for the 4L60E have enclosed oversized needle bearings, some have a steel stator, and a chrome-moly drive hub. Depends on how serious you want to get.

Here is a thread in which we discussed PWM and the TCC system on 4l60E's:
