From what I understand, you use z5 until all scratches and swirl marks dissapear and then top coat with z2. I have not tried this because my paint is in nice shape. I just used the z2 with accelerator and then the shine enhancer spray between coats. Looks real nice.

cool...my paint is great shape too...smooth as glass. No deposits or anything, aleast not to the naked eye or to the touch...but I do have swirl marks under floresecent lighting (which isnt as visible in natural lights)...I just want to get them out. Gonna go ahead and get both...

z2 and z5 have been improved even further.

i use nothing but z5 on our black firehawk with the zfx acclerator/gloss enhancer. the shine is better than the old straight z2.

z5 is a richer thicker version of z2... z2 is gr8 for white, silver, and light colored cars... but z5 should be used for darker colored cars.

I am looking to Zaino my Red Z and was wondering if could I get away with just ZFX and Z5 after cleaning with Z18 clay bar or do I need Z6 too? This is my daily driver so I don't need it exactly to be show quality. I just want it to look nice and be protected. Thanks in advance.......Later

Z6 is the gloss enhancer right? I dont think this is a mandatory step, but it does come out real nice if you follow all of zaino's recomm. on their site.

Yeah it's the shine enhancer. Just trying to see if it's necessary. Does it really make that much difference? Just tring to keep the price down a little. This Zaino Stuff is pricey but worth it from what I've read. Some of the stuff isn't bad but the ZFX is really what's hurting the wallet but it seems it's pretty important. I only want what's really necessary for now. Gotta stay within the budget ya know.......Later

Yea I have the same question about Z6. I can't see what it does either.

Z6 isn't critical, it just adds a little more shine.

So I'll still get a nice shine without the Z6 right? I'm not showing my car or anything just want it to look good without spending a fortune. So I should be able to get away with just the ZFX, Z5, and Z18 clay bar and get good results right? I should be able to fit those things into my budget no problem. Thanks again....Later

I'd recommend getting the Gloss Enhancer. It helps keep down the static so dust doesn't settle on the car as easily and it makes the car much easier to do a quick cleaning. I think it help the rain bead up and run off better as well.

Zaino may seem expensive, but it isn't. When properly used, in very light coats, the bottles last a long time. And I've found that the shine lasts so unbelievably long that you have to re-polish very seldom. End cost is probably less than the popular/conventional "polishes" and "waxes"

Come to think of it, I would really recommend getting the car wash concentrate. It will help preserve the finish and it goes a long way.
