You must be talking about optispark distributors. The drive method for those changed in 95 when GM switched to the vented design.
Water pumps are indeed the same for all f-bodies from 1993 to 1997.Tracy

Like Tracy Mentioned, you are incorrect. All the LT1 f-body waterpumps were driven off the camshaft and are consequently all the same. Maybe YOU are the one who needs to do some research.Originally posted by gregpi was just reading some posts and i saw something that is incorrect. the 93-97 water pumps are not the same so who ever said that really should learn more about the LT-1 before they go trying to help someone with false information. if u dont agree with me do some reasearch and post the correct info but the 93 and 94 are spline driven, 95-97 use different drive methods thats all have a nice day hoped i answered questions
I think you are confusing the optispark with the WP.

Gutsy indeed.......or just not very smart. If he would have come across just a little more cordial, it would have been one thing.....Originally posted by TraceZKinda gutsy for a noob to come marching in here and tell us we dont know what we are tlaking about.

If you are referring to Rob (shoebox) saying that here:
http://www.f-body.com/forum/showthre...ght=water+pump
then I'm afraid you called out the wrong person. To say "who ever said that really should learn more about the LT-1 before they go trying to help someone with false information" about him is not very smart indeed. He knows more than most anyone on this board
BTW, check out his web site for in depth info on the LT1: www.shbox.com94 Black T/A GT, Advanced Induction 355, 3200 stall, built 4L60E, Moser 9", Baer Brakes, Shooting for 11s...

OK.... let us in on your knowledge. What is the "different drive method" for the water pumps in 1995-97? We need to learn. We're anxious to learn.Originally posted by gregp.....do some reasearch and post the correct info but the 93 and 94 are spline driven, 95-97 use different drive methods thats all have a nice day hoped i answered questions
Maybe you could point out on these pictures what changed:

Ok Larry, or is it Greg? It would help to know what the heck you are talking about. Who said the water pump was different? I answered your e-mail but got no response. Oh well........Originally posted by gregpi was just reading some posts and i saw something that is incorrect. the 93-97 water pumps are not the same so who ever said that really should learn more about the LT-1 before they go trying to help someone with false information. if u dont agree with me do some reasearch and post the correct info but the 93 and 94 are spline driven, 95-97 use different drive methods thats all have a nice day hoped i answered questions
not a wise idea to step in here and start questioning these guys. They know more about the f-body than the local delership.

In the future, and this applies to everything in your life, don't make a personal attack when you think you are correcting someone. You are sure to get a bad reaction. And if it proves that you are wrong it makes you look worse. There is no point in it and it accomplishes nothing. Simply say I believe you are incorrect (don't say "you are wrong" or "you are an idiot") and state what you think.Originally posted by gregpi was just reading some posts and i saw something that is incorrect. the 93-97 water pumps are not the same so who ever said that really should learn more about the LT-1 before they go trying to help someone with false information. if u dont agree with me do some reasearch and post the correct info but the 93 and 94 are spline driven, 95-97 use different drive methods thats all have a nice day hoped i answered questions
