  • headers..what is your fav

like i said in my other post, i am getting ready to either change my heads or port and polish my stock lt1's. while i have the heads off, this is the ample time to change my headers. What do you guys think are the best? hooker? pase setter? jet hots?. Thanks for the feed back.

I would get either the AS&M mid lengths, or the RK Sport replicas of the AS&Ms. Long tubes are good too, but cause ground clearance issues, and in my opinion, are not worth the minimal gains (if any) over mid lengths.

Do Long tubes now. Don't settle for less and be disappointed later.
Shorties are not worth the time effort or the money. I have had 2 brands of Long tube.
FLP - Good for emmissions and to swap the cats and the offroad pipes whenever you want. The down side is the plug/ wire access.
Jet Hots- Awesome plug/wire access (mine are non emmissions

I guarantee, as Im sure other people here would too, that he would not be dissapointed with the AS&M Mid Lengths. Pair these up with the random tech y-pipe and cats, and were talking enough flow for 1000+ HP! Plus no ground clearance issues. You just cant beat that IMO!

Yeah, im not to worried about emissions, as of now i dont have any cats on my car, and probably wont plan on getting some on. people are telling me to get full lengths, others are telling me to get mid, i dont know. Im looking at these Hooker headers full length for a little over 300 on ebay. brand new ceramic coated. But i will keep everyone posted on what i will get. Thanks for your help and keep giving me some feedback!

Anything is better than the stock ones. As for the shorties... I noticed a 4+mph gain, 3-4 tenths off. Also, passing rolling NJ emissions. Well worth the gains IMO. A few fitment issues, but nothing is perfect. It all depends on what your goals are with the car, and how deep your pockets are.
