The new rims I am interested in buy are 18 / 8.5 and the tire it calls for are 245 40 18... My question is can I squeeze 255 tires on to these rims for my rear? I know I can change rims but i really like these Rogue rims by American racing. I just would like a wider tire in my rear.

I think I asked this question before, and I'm pretty sure you can fit that tire on. Ask Wolfman, he will know.

Yes, not a problem. A 255 is only 10 mm wider than a 245 in section width. That equates to less than .4 inches. Only .2 inch additional bulge on either side. Many people go with 255s from 245s. Have at it and have fun.

Outstanding!!! 255 is all I can squeeze though right? nothing wider without pushing it. What do you think should I do both front and back 255? or keep it staggerd with the rears slightly wider, and fronts at 245?

Many people have put 315s on the back of their cars. I had them on my 94 Z28. A staggered look is awesome. Makes the car look more like a drag racer. You won't see much difference between the 245 and 255.

these rims come only in 18/ 8.5 0r 20/ 10. I dont think the 20's are made for the F body fit, but the 18s are. I dont think the 18 up front and the 20/10 in the rear will look to well. Thats just me. Check the rims out there are on americanracing.com, and there called the Rogue. They have them in black and chrome.

You probably could, but your handling would suffer. The contact patch would actually be smaller than that of the 255.

BFG recommends at least a 9.0" wide wheel for the 265/40-18 g-Force KD. And that tire is 26.3" diameter, making it larger in diameter than the stock tires (25.65" for the 245/50-16 or 26.18" for the 235/55-16s).

I like the rim a lot so I am going to stick with the 245 40 18 KD then on all 4 rims. If I decide to take it to the track I will just get track tires on a different set of rims.

I just got heart broken the rims I really like will not fit my f body. I called the manufacturer and they said they wont fit in my lugs. I am looking and new ones now. Can 19 inch rims by 8.5 0r 9 fit in my fronts? and 20 inch by 10 in the rear?
