ordered pressure plate, disk and throwout bearing. I suppose I should swing by the local parts store and pick up a pilot bearing and an allignment tool too. Haynes manual is in hand. Wish me luck. (god help me)

They're not hard to do. The only thing that got me on my first one (i dont know if you've dont it before) was the shift fork. In order to seperate the tranny from the bellhousing, you have to pull the shift fork OUT. You'll feel it pop out of its "socket." Then you can pull the tranny down.

Ordered Disk, Plate and release bearing for 329.00. Budget is to tight to buy a flywheel too due to new duplex under construction. I wish I could afford your deal with the flywheel. That is a really good price.Comment

I'm gearing up to do the job this coming weekend and stopped by the local parts store. I picked up a pilot bearing and some brake cleaner. They had 2 different pilot bearings available for this application. The one I got is the heavy duty model which has a race of needle bearings in it. the el-cheepo model was just a solid bushing.
What is in the car stock? Will this heavy duty bearing be superior to stock? What have you guys used?Comment
