  • no gasket for the thermostat housing?

i read somewere on here that you dont need a gasket for the thermostat housing, that the seal from the thermostat acts like the gasket. is this true?
    thanks

Be extra careful not to spill the coolant on the Opti. My dumbA$$ did that and a $15 5 minute job turned into a $300 5 Hour job. Even if you drain the coolant there may still be some in the hose attached to the stat housing.
