  • LE2 cam please healp

Will Elliott's LE2 cam work well with the AFR 180 heads for a 97 TA WS6 thanks Ron

I doubt it would be a good match at all. The AFR 180's are too small for a healthy LT1 engine, at least one strong enough to support the LE2 cam. Look at the flow numbers for the 180's.... about the same as an LT4 head, and coming close to stalling at 0.500" lift. Even with the more expensive "competition package" the flow number do not look impressive. And, most independant flow tests find that the AFR heads do not reach the AFR claims.

I would suspect the LE2 cam (do you even have the specs on the cam?) would respond best to a head with a 195cc or larger port. The AFR LT4/210 (which is only 203cc) would look like a much better choice.

Why are you ruling out porting your LT1 heads, in favor of spending a lot more money on the AFR's, then probably having to pay even more to get them to flow what an LE2 port job would flow?

The LE2 package is ideal for the street. The cam is designed for maximum "area under the curve", giving it a good balance of low end grunt and high end HP.
