  • project "engine tear down" has begun..!

last night i was asking how to get the fuel lines disconnected, well i got them, they weren't that hard once i chose the right disconnecting tool..well, i was in the garage last night for about four hours and i successfully got the fuel rail off, intake manifold, valve cover, rockers and and push rods off the passenger side. I must say, this is the first time taking my engine apart and im having a great time. ive taken engines apart before but doing it on your own car has it's advantages. tonight after work im taking the head off and startin on the other side. soon im gonna have to run up to summit and get some stuff...its nice living about 45ish minutes away from summit, saves a bunch on shipping. here is what i am planning on getting..not all at the same time..

trickflo heads 62cc combustion chamber pre assembled
    oversized cam
    optispark
    maybe a coil
im going to look for lt4 intake manifold
    RR
    spark plug wires
    trickflo valve covers
bigger injectors..what is the stock injector size? 19pounds? or 24...
    ac delete pulley
    underdrive crank pulley
sometime in the future msd box or accel
again, in the future stall converter
    ...shift kit for my a4
i cant think of anything else...but i have about 2 months to come up with this money!! im so happy oh well, im working two jobs, 7 days a week, i will be fine..later guys, give me some feed back on what you think...some advice maybe. well thanks

So your doing a top end rebuild? How many miles does your car have? Will you be porting the TF heads, or using them out of the box? Sounds like you have some major plans for your car!

Are you planning a blower at some stage, with the 62cc combustion chambers?

Will the TF valve covers fit under the alternator, or are you relocating the alternator?

Stock injectors are 24 #/HR. To get your new size, multiply expected flywheel HP by 0.07..... example 400HP x 0.07 = 28 #/HR.

next year i am going to be putting an ATI procharger on my car and rebuilding the bottom end with the 383 stroker kit. i know the 62cc combustion chambers are pretty big...but i have big plans. but hey, that just gives me more space for a little shot of nitrous

I will have to get back to you about the valve covers. i just seen that they sell them. i know i will need bigger valve covers to make room for the valve travel, but i will have to look into that.
