  • Ebay gave my Hypertech programmer the boot...

So ebay yanked the sale of my hypertech power programmer, stating that it helped aid the adjustment and rollback of the odometer. The description in question is "Speedometer/Odometer Correction: Automatically corrects speedometer and odometer readings for non-stock tire sizes and/or non-stock rear-end gear ratios (accurate odometer readings are required by law)." also ebay completely disregarded what i told them about the programmer actually helping ABIDE by the laws...i'm so wicked pissed seeing as how they didn't yank the auction until there was under 2 days left of the 7 day auction. anyway that's my story...who wants a programmer? 200 dollars shipped for a 94 lt1 programmer? works like new.

Ask ebay if they will re-list it as long as you do not include anything that mentions any references to the odometer.

haha no i got into a huge debate with them and they said they didn't want to discuss it without any further proof of legallity, so i got them that and then crunched the numbers on WHY you need an accurate odometer using a 15" stock tire to a 18" example...if you did that and DIDN'T correct it, you'd actually travel .2 miles further per mile...damn

I suppose you could use it to give your odometer a false reading. But for it to have any effect you'd really have to put some time into it. Maybe like over 2 years of driving to show a significant difference. Even so, you're speedometer would be waaay off the whole time!

I'm with you on this. It's a 50 state legal product...and helps more than it could ever hurt.
