  • SES light

    got into my car today and the SES light came on. Went and got it checked out got a P0135 code..... Oxygen sensor heater circuit malfunction (pre-converter sensor, left bank) Where is this sensor located. how do i replace it, and where is the cheapest place to get a new one?
    97 chevy camaro V6 Y87 5 speed.

    The sensor is located in the driver's side exhaust manifold, the heater element is used to get the sensor operating up to temperature quickly. Once up to temperature, it should read normally but will still set a code.

      Generally a good idea to get only an AC/Delco OEM replacement. You can get them fairly cheap at these sources:

      Its a bit easier to get the old sensor out with an "O2 sensor socket"..... a tall socket with a large slot in the side so it will fit over the wire.
