  • Tailight Ground Fix Solution

I ended up being able to fix my grounding issue with my taillights. Its those stupid old-style bulb sockets that messed everything up for me. I did an experiment by rigging up a set of wires to wedge into the socket between the bulb and the collar(ground) once I grounded that wire, everything worked excellent. I yanked out each ground wire out of the socket, filed up the connector using a small jeweler's file, di-electirc greased it, and then put it back in.....works as good if not better than new!

Hope this helps anyone whose taillights ever do this.

Oh yeah, this also made my cruise control work again. There is a system part of cruise control that senses whether or not the brake lights are on, and if the lights are messed up, then the sensor is getting a weird signal, causing the cruise to never engage because it is immediately shut off by the brakes (although they may not be engaged).
