i just talked to a guy today, and he said to try to get the car for under 2000, like 2k at the most, but try and get it for about 1800 or so. so hopefully i will beable to get ahold of the kid tomarrow and talk him down.
I've seen about a dozen or so 1993's for sale on various boards and Auto Trader for less than $2,500 with alot less mileage.
You should take him a couple of printed ads and show him how low they are going for.
5500?? lol, no way. Try getting a 94-95, I'm not sure why, but I heard those were great years. The earlier model ECU is the main difference I think. And single cat exhaust.

I don't know why either...but I have noticed this too. Could just be me though.
yeah thats not a bad idea. what are some links to the 93's and others that you have seen with less miles and decent condion for around 2500. ill see what i can find too. thanks.
94 was the first year for the flash pcm in the f-body. 95 was the first year for the vented opti. The only problem is that the 94 and 95 have an obd2 connector and an obd1 computer, so it is sometimes difficult to find a way to scan the codes and such.

I have nothing against a 93. An f-body is an f-body. They just have their little differences. 93s are speed density, so you have one less sensor to mess with, and when your making crazy power, the maf isn't an airflow restriction. Btw, awsome car.

LOL, just busting chops. (Thanks for the props)
And you are all pretty much on the money, it's most likely not worth what he's asking. You could easily get a later model for that. However, don't simply over look it, you might want to brush up on the differences on the 93s and the rest of the 4th Gens there are quite a few (Here is a list we came up with at the SpeedDensity site http://www.speeddensity.org/showthread.php?t=679). See if you can get your hands on a detailed list of EVERYTHING that has been modified. All I'm saying is don't be too quick to discount it...might just turn out to be a sweet deal

Jeremy, did you see my thread about the noise? I'm pulling the intake tomarrow if you want to help. If we get it running, I'll drive you to look at that Camaro.

i dont think there is all that much modified, jsut little things, and the bolt on parts taht he has on there, if i have to ill let him swap for stock if he has the parts, im just intested more in the car not what hes done to it becuase i want to customize it in my own way, well besides what he leaves on there. ill have to read taht stuff posted there, i took a quick look at it and didnt feel like reading it right now, but ill definately take a quick look at it when i get time. i have a list of stuff i want to ask him, and reasons that the value of hte car is low compared to why it isnt worht ats much as he woudl say. also i have found some ads for cars to show him how the value is affected.
i didnt see your thread about the noise, but ill look it up here after i get done with this. ill probably come out and help you with it, just wake me up or someting. would u wanna go out and look at it anyways even if we dont get it running right, even though i really hope we do. oh, faber said i could store the car out at the old underground customs place during the winter. ill tell you more tomarrow when i see you.

Close, but no. The 95 has the OBDII connector, yes, but the 94 still has the OBDI connector.
As for the single-cat exhaust, that was standard till 96, 95 on CA. cars. For differences between the 93 and the later cars, read Joe's thread.
