  • Bowling Green - 9.97 WS6

Here is a video of a 35th CE WS6 that hit a 9.97 down in Bowling Green during the F-Body Gathering.

The car runs twin trubos, approximately 650 RWHP, all on the stock bottom end, and still with the full leather interior. Quite an accomplishment.

The engine is an LS1 still on the stock bottom end... just heads, cam, and Incon twin turbos pushing 9 psi of boost.

Yep it is definitely a sweet car.

His name is Mike B., he is one of our local guys here in Greater Cincinnati. Between 2 of our local clubs (GCFBA & NKYFBA) I think we had 4 people in the Quick 8 @ bowling green.

Everyone had a blast, unfortunately, I didn't make it this year.

Yeah I have talked to him a couple of times. His Comp is immaculate.

And actually he just pulled a new best last week 11.38 @122mph w/ 1" of daylight under the left front tire!!

              Another point

So if I put a 6 or 8 psi supercharger on my low mileage '96 engine, I should be able to get "on it" occassionally with out doing the lower compression pistions or rods?

Yes. I would guess that since the LT1 is an iron block, it would be able to take even more abuse.

An 8lb would be the max on a stock setup, but to me even that is pushing it.
4-6 lbs will shorten the life of the motor, but you could probably still put some miles on it.
The issue is with the hypereutectic pistons and rods, with all the added compression. If you get any kind of detonation, those things just shatter. You would definitely want to be careful.

Personally I am too big of a wuss to run nitrous or a supercharger on a stock block. That is why I went forged in the 383, I knew I would want to add some kind of power adder later on.
