  • Wheel Nut Caps - p/n

Question about the wheel lug nut caps on the 2001 Camaro N96 alloy wheel. They should be the grey ones. I ordered online from a GM parts dealer one that was listed and it looked like the right one. It had a MSRP of $2.04 each, but now they are saying that part is not right for my car based on my VIN. The one they say is right costs over $3, they said that I had ordered the caps for the chrome wheels.

Chrome wheels have black caps, right? How can the grey cap cost double the black one? As far as I know there are only 2 kinds of alloy wheel nut caps - grey and black. 3 bucks each seems like a lot. Any idea where I might get those oem-style cheaper???

Can anyone who has access to a parts catalog verify this?

    thanks,

Don't know if they've got them for the '01 Camaro, but we got lug nut caps for our '91 Firebird from Advance Auto, I think they were $1.50 each. They look just like the originals.

'87 Camaro - 2.8L MPFI, 700R4 swapped to T5, B&M Ripper Shifter, Dynomax Super Turbo muffler, CATCO high flow cat, K&N air filters, 180 degree thermostat w/200-180 fan switch, 3.42 rear end, Global West steering brace, polyurethane bushings/trans mount, Spohn adjustable torque arm.
'88 Formula (stolen), '96 Camaro RS, (sold), '91 Firebird (sold),

I'm going to go over and have a look at them. I wonder why GM's replacement parts are SO much more expensive. You would think that they'd want more people to buy their parts so they'd make them more competitive. Almost every single part - even things like Oil filters - cost more than in the store and in fact, the Ac-Delco filters are the exact same ones but yet still priced way out. I'd like to have some of what they're smokin'!
