service engine light just came on, stopped by Autozone they said it would have to be a 96 or above for them to pull the codes, so how do I go about pulling the codes on my 95 T/A?

Sounds like they dont know what they are doing. Everything after 93 had an ODB2 ECM. Your cars computer is the same as a 96 model. Only way I know to get the codes off is with a scanner. You can buy one or you can bring the car to the shop.

        Not correct...

        1994 and 1995 were OBD1

1995 was a freak year, it had an OBD1 PCM with an OBD2 connector under the dash. You need a special cable to scan this year.

        1996 and up was OBD2

          Do you own a laptop?

If you do, for $90 you can buy an interface cable to plug your laptop into your car. Then there is some software called "FreeScan" you can download off the net for free.

Presto - you have a very powerful and easy to use scan tool.

96 and up is OBD-II, not 94 and up. So his PCM is a OBD-I and is not the same as a 96 PCM.

Most of the parts chains will only scan OBD-II.

Atl_monte, buy Jeff a few cold ones and go take him up on his offer.

Many OBD-I scanners have an adapter connector for the 95 "oddball" cars.... or you can use wire jumpers per the photo on Shoebox's page:

this is something I will have to surely do, I'm good with G-bodies but still learning on these F-bodies, I just installed this engine in this car so I espected a few of these problems, the light doesn't stay on just every now and then then when you cut the car off and start it back up its gone
