Rod that holds the hood up?

4th gen f-body hoods are held up with 2 gas struts. There is no prop rod. The struts that held up your old hood should work just fine.

yeah a rod was sent with the hood to be placed instead of the struts because the stock struts are to heavy. Is this wrong?

You should already have two ball studs spot welded to your shock towers. All you will then need to do is find the hood mounted ball studs and attach them to the underside of the new hood. Then you can use the two hood struts like OEM.

I always hated having to go buy toilet parts and ask for a new ball and cock assembly from the local hardware store!

My avatar wasn't necessarily by choice. A few of my jokester buddies decided that would be appropriate....they think I am crazy.

It's from the show Pinks on Speed Channel.
