  • Speed bumps or potholes which one is worse ?

I guess it depends on the size of the pothole ?

Potholes! I hit a pothole once and bent a rim...had to replace it.

Speed bumps are okay. You slow down for those, but sometimes you can miss spotting a pothole at night.

Potholes aren't good, but after an experience a few years ago, I'd have to say our cars are tougher than you'd think. My GF at the time was driving us home since I had had a few drinks. She took a left turn at an intersection and cut the corner a little too close. The curb sticks out too far there anyway. Well, the car hits the curb at maybe 20mph. The driver's side goes maybe 7" into the air. We were going to pull over to inspect, but it was driving fine. I got an alignment done and that was it. Never another problem. Steering system was fine as well. I did have SFC's at the time, but was still surprised.

Speaking of not spotting things, a lot of places in my area don't like to paint speed bumps. So at night its really tough to spot them when its dark I've bottomed out in my Allante because of those damn things.

But still think potholes are worse.

Speed bumps are expected and predictable. Pot holes are not.
