Will an LT4 Intake Manifold thats been port matched for LT1 Heads still work on LT4 heads? Im thinking about getting one for my LT1, but in the future, Id like to upgrade to LT4 heads and would still like to take advantage of the Intake manifold. Is this possible?

Thanks for the Advice!
Im desprate to upgrade my car, but im on a limited budget. What if I upgraded the cam to an LT4 Cam and put 1.6:1 Roller Rockers, would that be a better setup? My car is my daily driver. I also want to replace the stock Y-Pipe for a 2 1/2" Random Tech with High Flow Cats, I figure this would be a nice good compliment to the SLP Shorties. Any other suggestions?1996 Arctic White Z28, A4, K&N CAI, TByrne MAF ends, BBK Twin-52mm TB, TB Bypass, SLP 1 3/4" Shorties, Richmond 3.42's, Dynomax Bullet Muffler W/Turn Down, BMR Adj. Panhard, EIBACH Pro-Kit, AFS ZR1 Wheels W/17x11" out back!

There is very little difference between the LT1 and LT4 intake manifolds.... not enough to make a performance difference. The LT4 intake will not fit on the LT1 heads without some machine work in the area of the valve cover rails. Then, although the LT4 head intake runner is 0.100" taller than the LT1 head intake runner, the intake manifolds are not. They are virtually identical in shape to the LT1 ports.
The big difference in the LT4 intakes is the amount of extra material in the "roof" of the runners, that allows the ports and runners to be opened up substantially, to match the flow capabilites of a really well ported set of LT4 heads. But without that extensive rework to the intake runners, the LT4's might even be "worse" than the LT1 intake. I know my LT4 intake had major rework on it when it came back from CNC Cylinder Heads in Florida. When the heads were flowed with the intake, the already excellent flow number improved by another 3%. Unfortunately, as smart as CNC was with the intake flow, they totally botched the exhaust ports.
There are much better ways to spend $200.Fred
