Just wanted some opinions / personal experiences on rear tires.I just bought a pair of 15x10 weld wheels and was thinking of mounting up a pair of MT et streets.These will be on my 93 z28.I don't drive it that much but just wondering if i'm making a bad choice.I could mount a pair of sticky tires on the stock rims but really want to use the new set up for the street and the strip.The car is mostly stock with a few bolt on products, lower gears but eventually i'm going to build it up.I'm lucky if i drove the ss 1,000 miles a year i usually take this car out alot more but next month my daughter will be born so thats way i don't mind putting a set of street/strip tires on it.I'm just looking to spend the money on everything once on the right parts.Thanks

Hopefully your 15x10's Welds have the correct 7.5" backspace.
I've run ET Streets, Hoosier QTP's and ET Drags, and I would not recommend any of them for a street car. They have to be heated to be "sticky", and the slightest bit of wet and you are running the risk of losing control. And... the super sticky tread picks up every stone and foreign object on the road, and hurls it into your paint.
Even a drag radial offers some risk of the above characteristics, but they are more reasonable for a street car. I run BFG Drag Radials on the street, and have survived major downpours, but mine still have most of the skimpy original tread on them. The Nitto 555R drag radials are supposedly more "street" friendly, having a longer tread life and less problems with water. The new M/T ET Street Radials are supposed to be extremely sticky, a bit poor on wear, but acceptable.Fred
