  • Getting ready for SLP Car Show.... Need help!!!

    Hey guys,
I am entering my 99 GT into the car show at SLP App. Day next weekend. I have never been in a car show before and I want to know if anyone has any pointers/suggestions for me. I spend all night today removing the bugs, tar and gook that was towards the bottom of my car. The car is looking really good already. I am planning on adding about 3-4 coats of Zaino before the show, but is there anything else that I shoud do? What should I bring to the show?

    Thankx everyone,
    No F-Body right now

bring a california duster. when you arrive and park...dust if off.. and then do the whole car with z6 gloss enhancer.

make sure you engine bay is spotless......and your exhaust in the back...... make sure your interior is spotless.......and leave that hood open....the judges wont even look at your car if the hood is not open.... dont pile a bunch of unsightly stuff behind the car ... put it under the car outta site. if you have a show board... use it.. if not..make a nice clean one... listing date of manuf., model, options, and mods..... make sure the tires are clean and freshly z16'd.. and not mud on the tread surface.

dont leave anything on the seats, front or back..... no loose change.....nothing..... make it look like it just got built and then some.

    most of all......have fun.

my CompTA won best Pontiac at the first SLP CAD...... got an exspenses paid trip to BraggSmith Driving School in Las Vegas.... that I could take because it was a conflict of interest with my job........ but thats ok...... made my weekend anyway

I've been in many shows with my Vettes, and let me tell you the judges can get really anal. I would remove the wheels, completely detail them off the car, then reinstall. All it takes if a little wipe of their finger inside one of the spokes and find crud to knock you down a place or two. The same goes for any surface that can be touched without actually laying on the ground. Cleanliness is going to make the differance like Ken said. Clean brake calipers, underside of the rocker panels, wheel wells, etc. It can get tiring, but well worth it when you take the trophy.
