  • Out of the f-body game for a while.....

Hey guys, its been a while. I havent been working on the bird in a while, so I havent been freqenting the site much. I wanted to pop in and let you all know I sold my WS6.

I was still paying the loan on the car and I am trying to build a family, and the two just dont work well together. The loan was only a few hundred dollars a month, but I just couldnt justify paying it while the car sat in the garage most of the time. So, I sold it.....probably too cheap. But, I payed off the loan and with the remainder of the money I bought a car that is already built.....and will hopefully satisfy my need for speed without tapping into the family budget.

Now, I know I will probably be laughed at by most on the board (no I didnt buy a honda with a fart can!) but I bought a turbo dodge. I have always been a fan of the original pocket rockets and have owned several of them througout the years. This is an 89 Shelby CSX, built to the hill. Should be good for deep 11's on slicks (350 whp) . ANd the best part is that no one will ever see it coming. If you dont know the car im talking about (and not many do), it looks like a dodge shadow.

Heres the car and it's specs if anyone cares to know what I abandoned the f-body hobby for! The pics are mostly of the mechanicals, but the body is pretty near mint. I think I got a nice deal:

Anyways, good luck with your f-bod's and have fun.

    -Sean

P.S. Ive got my slicks and skinnes up for sale in the "for sale" section.

You have to do what you have to do, 2 of the previous owners of my car had to sell it because they started a family and the car didn't help with that plan.

My car is no where near as nice as your WS6 but you did manage to get a fun car and thats always good! Beating new mustangs in your new ride will make the victories sweeter too, I know I would feel stupid for getting smoked by something that looked like a dodge shadow (at the track... ).

My girlfriend knows that if we need a family car down the road my firebird stays and we buy another car. I don't mind driving even a minivan as long as I have a toy too

That is the deal with my 69 GTO. That one will never go! The WS6 was fun, but theres a time for eveything. It was just too expensive to keep around. Im on a public school teacher's budget! I will miss it though. Ive never even driven another car that fast.....123mph trap speeds will be hard to get over, but I will have another some day.

Hey Sean, well that stinks about having to get rid of the bird, but like you said....family is always first. I don't think 4th Gen F-Bodies are going to increase in value anytime soon, so if should ever be in the market for one later down the road, you should be able to pick up one cheap.

I had a friend in highschool who had a built turbo Shelby and that car was no joke. He won so many bets with that thing because nobody could believe the car was that fast.

Yes they are really easy to get 250-300 HP out of with a basically stock motor. Ive got an 88 Shadow right now that ran a 13.80 and I have less than 1k bucks into it. They are the ultimate sleepers. This new CSX should be fun, but it wont be the same as all that torque of the 383.
