Has anybody gotten that vibrating noise from their headlight motors overspinning? I have a 94 trans am and it makes that noise when the lights flip up, and I have a 94 firebird V6 that makes the noise when they flip down. Both are on the right side.

No. You're the only one that has had a problem with the Firebird headlight motors. jk

They were a problem on 3rd gen cars too.

Source of replacement brass gears, and the "free" "rotate the gears 180-deg" writeup on Brent's website.

Wow that was pretty informative. I'm going to pick some of those up. thanks! In the mean time, could I take the good motor out of V6 and stick it in the T/A and then fix both motors later? Cuz the motors just screw out don't they?

If you scroll down the page to the "free fix" section you can extend the life of the gear by just flipping it, only half of the gear gets used, so if you just reposition it you'll be good for a while. All you need to buy is some epoxy to glue the motor cover back on.

Yes, you can just swap motors around to get 2 good ones into one car. But chances are that those "good" motors aren't going to last much longer either.

I'm kind of afraid of breaking it or messing it up. Then I'll be SOL

I think all you have to do is take the screw off the bracket and rotate the motor until its 180 degrees and reattach the bracket. If that does not work its time for new gears.

I will look at both of them this weekend and see what's up. I might be getting rid of the 94 V6 so I may just take the motors.
