  • is burning out bad???

This is sorta a dumb question but every once in a while, about once or twice a month i will do a pretty nice burnout. What i was wondering is if doing it this much is bad for the engine??? Can i hurt the engine by doing this??

if ur sittin there revvin it to the sky yes. if not shouldnt be a problem, yea its extra stress but also on everything else. just keep the revs around 2.5 or 3K and u should be fine

Make sure you don't take it to redline. When you want to end the burnout, don't just lift off the throttle and let everything come to a crashing stop. Roll out of it, slowly easing up on the throttle. My normal burnout is about 4-5 seconds at 5,000rpm in 2nd gear.

okay thanks, i don't do it all that much but sometimes i'm scared i might blow a rod or something like that. My rpm's only get to around 4k or so.
