Geez, where are you located that labor is only $40 an hour? Around here, mechanics get $80-$90 an hour! I'm getting charged $400 for someone to fix my intake manifold leak, and that's at a discount.

I've got a personal friend who works out of his garage who is a mechanic. He does all my work for me whenever I need it. He has 2 lifts in his garage and stuff it's really cool. It's a little less convenient than a regular shop cuz he kinda works at his own pace. He has like a program on his computer that tells how long it is supposed to take and that's what he charges me but sometimes it can take like 3 days to get brakes replaced or something just cuz that's how he is. Since I have 2 cars though I don't really mind so much but it can be kinda annoying.

I just got a quote from my mechanic on that work I'm getting done. It's going to be 600$ in labor to get new headers installed, new exhaust, differential gears, and a differential housing. He's also sending my rearend to a guy that he knows who sets up the differential for racing to get it tweaked and set up properly.

He also told me that if my car has been running sluggish, to check my cat after I've been driving for a while to see if its red because he said it might have a clog or something.

Also could somebody give me that link to where they found that differential brace thing that was like 150$

If I put in this LSD, would I still need to put that housing on it?

This one is cheaper but the spline(??) is different.
