hey i'm ordering two 3" exhaust cutouts, and i'm putting them into my y-pipe(one after each header). when they are uncapped, will the exhaust note sound good, or very raspy like open headers?? I want them so that when i'm cruising around i will get alot of attention. so if anyone knows how cutouts sound, please let me know if it's worth paying a little $60!

It sounds pretty darn awesome! Its extremely loud and will let people let you know your coming 1/2 mile away. Sounds very raspy when you let off the throttle. WOT though is freakin amazing, any guy here who has done it will agree. sick!!!!! that's awesome...i've always wanted that sound where everyone would just stop what they're doing and wonder what in hell kind of beast is driving down the street. well i probably won't be disappointed cuz i like LOUD!! plus i can just cap them up when i get tired of the loudness.

Its going to be Almost too loud. I had a buddy when we did his headers and that, then installed a cut-out right after the Y-pipe. OMG. Insane. I say with one Cut out it would be more than enoughEddie

IMO it doesn't sound anything like open headers. It sounds you hit a huge bump and knocked a big hole in your exhaust. I wouldn't even worry about putting cutouts in as I really don't think you will like the sound. I think your money would be better spent eleswhere.

well i've been looking at ls1sounds.com at some cutout setups and i like how it sounds. plus i've already ordered them and i'm not going to be running them open that much. mainly at the track and once in while on the street but not much at all. well we'll see how they sound in a couple weeks

Hey i just got the cutouts on. All i can say is WOW!!!!!!! It is incredibly loud!!!! sound like i'm in a drag car! They are bolted right up to the headers so they sound like straight headers!!!

Sounds sweet! I am not that familiar with these though, so anyone care to elaborate more?
Also, are these street legal? I mean, if I got a set would it possibly keep me from getting a state inspection?
