Water temp sender location

Where is the water temp sender located on a 99 Z28? Can I run an aftermarket gauge off this sender as well as my stock gauge? If not where is the easiest place to install the new sender?

here is a link to a picture of the sensor on a LT1. I'd guess it is in a similar position on the LS1, but I could be wrong

I'd imagine you could hook a second guage to it. Does your stock guage not function adequately?

The stock guage in a 99 is a dummy guage. I does not give you the exact temp. If the car is normal operating temp it shows the same temp on the guage no matter if the real temp is 180 or 200
