  • Temp Probe Question

    I just installed white gauge faces on my Z28. Easy install, and replacing the needles was not as difficult as I thought it would be but I have a little question about the accuracy of my temp readings now.

    I'm assuming that the temp. sending unit is just a standard type of thermocouple meaning that X resistance = Y Temperature. Is this correct? If so, does anyone have a chart showing what resistance = what temperature? I have a multimeter (and I sort of know how to use it...) and I'd like to verify and adjust my temp gauge if necessary.

    I also see on shoeobx's website there is a separate sending unit for the PCM and the gauge. Are they both the same?

    I don't have that info handy, but if you had a scanner you could read the data stream and you can see exactly what the computer sees.

        Its not a thermocouple, its a thermistor. The table is also in my scanner writeup:
