is it hard to remove the calipers to paint them? or maybe the better question is, is it hard to bleed the brakes when puttin them back on?

Bleeding the brakes with ABS it a bit more complicated than it used to be. I personally wouldn't (and didn't) remove the calipers to paint them. Even if you take the bolts out and pull them off the mounting brackets, you can clean them, mask them and paint them without disconnecting the hydraulic hose. Just make sure you don't stress the hose with the full weight of the caliper.Fred

A question to everyone, i painted my rotor hubs black, and the inside of the breaks black (between the 2 rotors). I was wondering if i paint the calpiers red, what color i should paint the bolts that hold the caliper together.. red too? or should i paint them black to stand out... im not sure what way makes them look the best, or like traditional corvette breaks, if anyone knows i would like to know befor i pain them and make a mistake.[COLOR=Navy]2000 Navy Blue Trans Am, T Tops, Automatic, Ram Air, Slp 85mm Mas, Air Lid, Smooth bellow, Hooker 1.75 Lt's, ORY, LM1, Air/EGR delete, Throttle body coolant bypass. Msd super conductor wires. TSP cam, ss3600, svo 38LB injectors.

Personally, I wouldn't do that. First of all, unlike some other GM models, the calipers on these cars were bright aluminum when new so they do kind of stand out between the wheel sections. Other models have that plain "chassis-black" painted calipers that look like the rest of the underbody. Also, they'll always be dirty and hard to clean unless you pull your wheels every 2 weeks. Rotor hubs are worse! I dont feel its worth the effort when its always going to be dirty anyway. I try and pull my wheels 2x a year and clean it all out and those bright calipers look great even behind the wheel.
