  • muffler recommendations anyone?

1991 pontiac trans am v8 305 tpi automatic

looking for a good sounding muffler that will free up some horse on the vehicle. so anyone who has changed theirs on a TPI let me know if you found a good one please that has accomplished this. I will be purchasing a cold air intake to compliment the muffler. Thank You.

On a previous car, I put a Flowmaster series 80 on my 1990 Z28 TPI, Great sound, low back pressure and relatively inexpensive.

Spintech's sound really good if you are just doing a muffler. Flows are good too and sound great.

I really enjoy the Spintech muffler on my 97. Sounds almost as loud as the flowmaster I had, but without the drone. However, mine's an LT1 (not sure how it would sound on the 5.0 TPI).

I agree 100%with Borla. A little pricey, but the absolute best for sound and adjustability.
