  • New trans am owner in the UK!!

Hi everybody, ive just took delivery of my 96 trans am recently, over the pond in the UK.These cars are very rare over here, and hence not many people know about them.Ive had a few 2nd gens before, but never a 4th gen,wow they are great cars!

However,it does have one slight problem, which apparantly is common, ive got a whine coming from the rear end at about 50mph,which gets louder as you go faster, once your past 70mph its gone!!Does anybody have an idea what this may be?As ive mentioned, garages over here are reluctant to work on them,as they dont know the cars!!!

Any help or advice would be great.

    Thanks in advance!

Do a simple lube and additive change in the diff. housing. See if that will quieten down the whine.

Make sure you always drive over 70mph.

Or, try giving it a fluid change, and if that doesnt work it'll need to have the rearend rebuilt.

You Englanders are a tough bunch. You kill each other over a soccer game. You find the money to fuel a pig like a TransAm - What's a little whining from the rear end now & then?

BTW, I've been there a couple times to Surrey and Manchester, and the girls are CUTE and most of them have big boobs and nice complexions - as it should be
