  • Road noise problem

I just recently acquired a 93 t/a with 50k miles. I've been driving it around and have noticed quite a bid of road noise from the rear. It gets loudest when I get off the gas and coast. Even though I'm sure road noise is normal from this body style, I don't think this noise is good. Any ideas?

Is it "road" noise, or is it gear or bearing noise?

To be honest, I'm not really sure. The tires are something like 2 years old, but the car sat for a year and a half. I imagine that I would see flat spots easily if the tires are the problem. The noise is a droning noise that is definatly coming from the rear. My guess is it's probably the bearings, but I'm not really sure or how to check...

What speeds are we talking about here do the noises start or is it all the time? Do you hear a slight whine from it at all?
