  • Anybody installed a new dash panel on their f-body?

My dash panel recently cracked around the center vent area going up near the front windowsheild. I went down to the local pontiac dealer and they quoted me $150 for the new dash panel, they said that labor for the install would be 3 1/2 hours at $75/hour. This sounds a little steep for me. Has anyone ever replaced the dash in their car? Anyone have any tech pages that would give instructions?

    Thanks for any help.

If you are talking about the flat piece that runs up to the windshield that has the defroster vents in it yes.

It uses a hard plastic velcro holding it down like what holds the inside fuse panel cover on. It takes about 30 minutes to install it. I had to take off the plastic pilar covers but that was it. My old one fell apart trying to take it out.

Mine cost $10 off ebay plus $15 shipping and if you don't mind doing interior work its not bad. Just remove the side pillars and its not bad. You may have to just bust out the old one.
