  • Advice on buying 94 Formula Firebird

I found a 94 Formula Firebird in pretty good shape (minor exterior blemishes) that runs good, no smoke. The oil pressure seems pretty steady, but I watched it flutter once for a few seconds (fluttered up from about 20 to about 25), and the oil definitely needs to be changed (doubt it is doing any good right now. It has T-Tops, sounds ok...there is a ticking but I think it is fuel-injector noise...sounds like the normal GM tick I am used to. 125K miles for $4500. Good or bad deal?

ok...depends on the service records,: water pump changed? plugs and wires? opti spark?-when?, alternator?, you get my drift.. you could buy it and sink a ton o money into it real quick if you are not careful. get all the infon on her.

        Hmmmmmm

I would look and buy private sale. Before I bought my Z28 I looked at a 96 TA at one of those little shady dealers. He wanted too much and when I really went over it I found all kinds of things wrong with it. It's like it had never had any maintenence stuff done to it at all. I found my Z28 in the Auto trader : 90,000 miles 2nd owner excellent shape, all options, well taken care of for $6,250. Do a little looking and you won't be sorry. I would stay away from those dealers though. They buy the cars cheap at auctions and you really have no idea if it was taken care of or not. If you're gonna go that route you might as well find someone who'll take you to and auction and save yourself a few grand. Remember those guys are trying to make money. Often you can find someone trying to break even or just needing to get rid of their F-bod cause there's a baby on the way. Good luck....Later
