  • ABS light

    I started down road then i stoped then i noticed my light came on then i turned car off then started it back up then i went down road and did it again why would it be on? its not slick out or anything

    The ABS system has a sensor in each front hub and either two or one in the rear, depending on whether you have traction control or not. Tracion control will have one sensor at each wheel, non traction control will have one sensor on top of the differential. It is likely that one of the sensors is going south or the harness connections are contaminated from road dirt, moisture, etc.

      Which "light" came on? There's a "LOW TRAC" light that indicates the ABS has engaged. And there's an "ABS INOP" light that indicates the system is not capable of operating.
