  • reverse lights...

so i realize my reverse lights were out. i went to change them and they were so rusted into the socket i couldnt remove them

i went to gm and bought 2 new reverse light sockets and a little jar of di-electric grease.... $126.00 total!!!!

im lucky i know the guy who works there or it woulda been around $150.00.

where the hell does gm get off for charging prices like these?

another thing...why is it that i had already replaced a tailight socket on both drivers side and passenger...and now both reverse light sockets???

obviously whoever designed the tailight area needs some therapy.

I would have told them to stick it....then went on down to the parts house and bought the sockets there for $5 a piece.

Next time you need bulb sockets, buy them from a late model salvage yard. They are usually around $10 bucks in good shape. Don't ever buy electrical pieces from the stealership.

if you cant take them out, break them carefully, get some pliers and get the metal base out..then some sandpaper or anything really to scrape the rust off the contacts, mabe some rust cleaner...thats one way to save yourself $120, if it happens again in the future that is , and i think the design is ok, its not like they burn out every other week so you neeed easy access
