What are your goals? How much are you willing to spend?

well I would like to start with something simple that I could do my self. i have a small reserve about 1K to start. i figure to start with the air intake maybe a computer chip.My goal is to get it to 300HP.
After that i will start working on suspention and breaks.

You won't be able to get a chip. To reprogram the PCM you'll need a programmer and they tend to go for $400.

Easy mods would be Cold Air Intake ($210 and do it yourself). Catback exhaust ($300-$700 plus $70 install). Those two together might get you to 295 at the flywheel.

Another free mod is the Throttle Body Coolent Bypass. Stock setup has coolent running through the throttle body and it heats up incoming air. That'll save some horsepower on the hot days. That's been shown to give around a 5hp increase to the rear wheels.

Checkout the below sight for some estimates.....

I agree with Joe on the mods...but forget the tuned PCM until you do some serious mods (heads/cam/gears etc) When it comes to bolt-ons...a tuned PCM will give minimal gains.

If I were you I would concentrate on the breathing...

CAI (Cold Air Induction, they're all about the same in HP gains)
          SpinTech cat-back exhaust
Headers (MACs are pretty darn good bang for the buck)

That should chew through that 1k and then some

All of which you can do with the right tools in your driveway.
