  • Some pics of my Headers (56k forget it!)

    Got the Kooks custom headers in yesterday from Airborn coatings

    They are 1 3/4" stainless steelheaders with cat's. Y-pip is gold due to them being stainless. Airborn almost coating them aginst my will and I barely caught them as they wer finishing up heat-treating them prior to coating.




    Thise pics don't do them justice... Theyt are real Jewls


    Install will happen once we finish up an 02 Z28 cat back (whenver it gets here) . I will do the cam at the same time as well as the UD pulley.

    why are you puttin a z28 catback on a firehawk? I thought the firehawk's exhaust was supposed to be more free flowing then the stockers?

        Yup. Ends up the parts won't be here for the Z28 so the Hawk is free to start the mods. ...starting tomorrow

        With the exhaust out of the car, it will make installing the cam install easier. The camis excellent for what I want as well. A custom grind of a 224 based cam to for all around power , all the way to 6800 . The UD pulley is being done as well

          Good choice, Kooks makes a great header. They are definitely little jewels! If only they would stay that way.

            we'll see. I asked on this board about which coating seems to hold up the best and Airborn was one of the recommended ones. It seems some on here had their headers coated with this in the early 90's and it still looks shiney new. I'm hoping their luck will rub off on me as well

              My bud took some pics of the install yesterday. Installed the cam, headers, and ud pulley, and !air. He does quick work (I'd do it my self but I can't compete when he has air tools, and keys to a dyno shop )

                382hp/366tq. Side note - Torque curve spends a lot of time above 360
