  • Chassis Twist?

Hey guys im new on the F-Body here and I already got a Q for ya. Ive got a 85 Trans Am with T-Tops that im about to swap the snot out of. Going from 155 hp to 510 hp . But I want to know if I will be alright with Just subframe connectors and strut tower brace and mabie the Wunder bar from UMI?

Also I have that cruddy Ausi 9 bolt in the back. How long will that hold up and what can I do about it?

You'll be fine with that HP. The unibodies on these f-body's are much stronger than you would think.

A strut-tower brace and sub-frame connectors will do well to tighten everything. 3rd gens are notorious for flex (I had one and been around them all my life) but those two will tighten the chassis a noticable amount. Goodbye t-top and cargo sqweaks...hello silence.

      Any other mods...suspension maybe?

I was planning on adjustable lower control arms and perhaps a aftermarket pitman arm. Ive already got my new Torque arm in there (shame its bolted to the 9 bolt) thats an Edlbrock adjustable as well. Past that some shocks was about all I was going to do suspesion wise.

BTW anyone have any tips on adjusting my Torque arm? Whats good whats bad? Why you do what you do? That kinda thing.
