  • HPP3 question

I totally got ahead of myself and got right into my t-56 conversion. I forgot to reprogram my pcm back to stock with my HPP3 and I was wondering can you still go back to stock with a MIL (check engine) light on? Will the light even come on without the car started just to acc. The trans is completely out.
I think all I have to do is put my steering column and connectors back to energize it.
    I am trying to
    A. send my pcm out to get a custom tune and programed for t-56
    B. Get some money for my HPP3 to pay for some of my tune.
    I LOVE COBRA'S -
    THEY TASTE LIKE CHICKEN!

95 SS clone- LT1, t-56, pro 5.0, short stick, sidewinder knob, AS&M headers, 3.73 , TA cover, Borla exhaust, MSD , BMR- chromoly suspension, Torq Thrust II

Yes you may return to stock even with the SES light on (I did after getting a code for the EGR valve). But, the SES light will be on with the ignition on with the engine off just to let you know the light is working.

Also, you need to make sure the ignition switch works before attempting to go back to stock.

What I did was reprogram my computer back to stock and put it on the shelf. I bought a blank ECM and had a custom tune done on that one. This way you always have a backup.
