  • Auxiliary power port (97 and up)

I was wondering if someone can give me direction on how to replace the plastic cap that covers the plug when not in use (I know the ring goes around the actual plug, and the cover hangs off the ring). Mine broke off and I am getting a new one. Thanks

The plastic ring slides over the metal canister before it is inserted into the panel. You'll have to remove the socket from the panel. One you gain access to the socket, there is a large nut that screws onto the body of the socket. Removing that allows everything to come apart, then simply change the plastic cap and loop. Reassemble in the reverse order and you're done.

Thanks. I actually was able to sneak the loop without totally removing the socket.
