  • Pro 5.0 shifter?

I just got don't my A4- t-56 conversion and went to install my shifter. I decided to go with the Pro 5.0 and short stick.

now to the question- In the install instructions it states to cut the boot to it spec, I think it means for a mustang not a camaro/firebird. am I right?

there was alittle boot on my factory shifter that I got off and streched over the Pro shifter and covers it like factory. is this correct as well?

The stock T56 boot (the rubber seal that goes over the base of the shifter, not the fake leather boot at the console) will not fit over the large "ring" on the top of the Pro 5.0 housing. You cut the center out of the stock T56 rubber boot, so it will fit over the large ring on the shifter.

Do not cut the hole too large. Cut it small and then remove additional material as necessary so it fits snugly over the shifter just below the stop bolts. If it's not snug it will let excessive road noise into the passenger compartment. The stop bolts should be accessible without moving the rubber boot.

      Here's a good write-up with pictures:

I guess i need some pictures to show what i am talking about.
The small rubber stretchable boot on the base of the stock shifter about 3 inches round. I understand about the large rubber boot with the 6 on it and screws.
