  • S&W 82-02 bolt on sfc & adj. trq arm kit

Just wondering if anyone here has used this kit or your opinions.
It comes with the bolt on sfc, adjustable torque arm which bolts to the
crossmember of the sfc, adjustable panhard bar and lower control arms.
It dosen't say if the lower arms are adjustable and i guess i would still
need lower control arm relocation brackets also. The kit is $749.95

This is what I turned up with a search:

    http://www.swracecars.com/shopping/s...ion+Components

The LCA's are not adjustable...... very few people need them to be adjustable.

The Panhard rod is "single" adjustable..... you have to unbolt it from one end of the chassis to adjust it. Preferred is a "double" adjustable - you can adjust it with the bar bolted at both ends.

The torque arm looks like its sort of lightweight.... 1" x 0.156" tubing. The Spohn, for example is 1-1/2" 0.120" tubing with a lot more cross bracing. The S&W would be adequate for a healthy bolt-on HP level, something like the Spohn will support higher HP and lanuch loads.

[EDIT - something I forgot to add earlier] Some people will argue with the idea of a "bolt-in" subframe connector. I've seen documented cases of the bolt-in SFC's tearing the sheet metal where they attach to the subframes. Weld-in may be a better choice.

They are giving you a $52 discount for the "kit" compared to the indivudual parts. Buying the equivalent Spohn parts would run about $35 more.

Thanks for the input. I would have welded the SFC in to be safe but I'd rather spend the money for the correct parts once. Thanks again.
