The fuel in the gas tanks acts as a coolant for the pump too. When you run it real low you don't have that coolant and it runs hot.2002 Electron Blue Vette, 1SC, FE3/Z51, G92 3.15 gears, 308.9 RWHP 321.7 RWTQ (before any mods), SLP headers, Z06 exhaust, MSD Ignition Wires, AC Delco Iridium Spark Plugs, 160 t-stat, lots of ECM tuning

word of advice, get a new pump from GM, u can get away with just the pump and not the sender and it be a lil bit cheaper. also on a GM dont run it much below 1/4 tank, as u have experinced and what was just said. and trust me its common, alot of GMs in my shop, they run them low, then fill the tank and ka-poot, the fuel pump is dead2009 Honda Civic EX- the daily beater

ok I got the new pump (used) and it seems like the sending unit was bad because it always read full.. when I say full I mean way past full... so I swapped the sending unit for the old one I had and it seemed to work fine for a couple of days then wammm! back on full even when I put 200 miles on on one tank.. it is stilll reading full.. anyone know what that is?
