  • 3rd Gen Header Question

-I have a 1985 Z28 that originally had a 305 Carb engine. Now the car has a 350 that came out of a 1971 Vette. Does anyone know of any header options besides the "shorty" style headers that everyone offers for 82-92 f-bodys? The headers that are made for the 1970's 350 engines will not bolt up due to clearance issues. Also, emissions is not an issue. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide. -Mike

pacesetter, flowtech, dynomax, hooker, edlebrock all make 1 3/4" long tubes but beware that u gotta bash in the tube a lil to have clearance between the tube and steering shaft. also if its a manual i think the tube or maybe the flange hits the slave on the T-5s, and u need a custome y pipe

Any longtube header designed for a 3rd gen will work for your car/engine. Refer to above post for manufacturers.
