  • starter solenoid- can you buy them separately?

the ceramic/plastic part near the connectors is broken, because of heat i think, but the rest of the starter is in a very good condition. Do i have to get a new starter ? for thr moment i fixed it using the solenoid from an ls1 starter ( its the same)

..and all this reminded me what a pita it is to replace the starter on an 93 97 f-body..and automatic too ..and on an ls1 all you have to do is jack the car up and you can reach it

Some repair shops can supply a solenoid. Most regular parts places don't stock or list them for an LT1 starter. They usually want you to buy the whole starter with solenoid.
