I don't know about the LS1 cars, but on the LT1's, there is a headlight control module mounted right behind the driver's side headlight. There are no servicable components.
Are you sure its the relay, and not a faulty gear in the headlight motor? That is a very common problem.Fred

i looked at the fuses in the fusebox for the RHL and LHL and they were both fine. im not sure if theres another set of fuses im supposed to look at? and the fusebox didnt have a wingnut on it. and in the ls1 the HL motor is mounted right behind the headlight with a place to where u can turn it manually and have the headlight come up and down. but there was no noise of grinding or anything before it stopped working. and before it completly stopped it would work occasionally, about every third or fourth time i would turn the lights on then off then back on.2001 Trans Am WS6 6spd. The gears can cause strange problems, that are not all related to "grinding". Brent Franker has a list of many of the headlight symptoms on his website, where he sells brass replacement gears:
http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/headlightfix/index.htm
Read all the way to the bottom of the page, where he details 7 different problems.
Also, you didn't specifically respond to the headlight control module. Its not a motor..... its a sealed box of electronics, about 4"x4"X3", with several large clumps of wires going in and out, and controls both the left and right headlight motors.Fred
