  • 95 Lt1 timing chain replacement..

    installing hot cam kit.
    besides the gm LT4 heavy duty timing chain whats my other option?
    my engine has 101,008 miles on it.
    should i replace the lifters and pushrods?

    i thought the lt4 hot cam kit came with the lifters' and yes i would replace the push rods since you are right there.
    1997 Camaro Z28 Pacesetter Long tubes, ORY-Pipe, Accel 30# Injectors, MSD Cap & Rotor, MSD Super Conductor Wires, NGK Irdium TR55IV Plugs, and Borla Catback. Madtuner Tune, SLP High/Low fan switch, NGK o2 sensors

    New Longblock at 110,947 and everything above.

      you have a couple of options. i know that comp cams makes an after market double roller chain for lt-1's but it'll cost ya. i know that there is another cheaper option than comp but i can't think of the brand off hand but that one is still like $389.00 or so. and if you go with the double roller chains i'm pretty sure you have to switch to an electric water pump.

        hot cam kit only supplies rockers - cam -springs with hardware..
        i guess i'm going to get the LT4 heavy duty timing chain. it runs about 240 on ebay.

          I don't remember the brand but I put a double roller in mine. The price was in the high 200s. I would definetly change the lifters, and valve springs. The new beehive type are supposed to be better and it is easier to put roller rockers on with them. I inspected my pushrods and all were straight and looked good so I did not change them.
