  • 1992 Firebird Question *tricky*

I also posted this on thirdgen but I wanted to know what you guys and gals thought.

According to my vin I have a 1992 Firebird 305 TBI, but I have rpo WS6(we all know what this is) and then the next one is W66-(Merchandised Package, Formula),also FE2(Suspension system, ride handling), and now the real bugger K41(brake system, power, front disk, rear drum, cast iron)and last but not least QLC(tire all, 245/50ZR16) Does this mean I have a WS6 Formula cleverly disguised as a base Firebird?

I believe I read somewhere that all trans ams have the base formula RPO and I believe in 1992 the WS-6 came with those size rims and tires. The drum brakes though, that's a tricky one.

SFC( not sure what kind), drilled/slotted rotors, K&N air filter, all free mods, 3" Borla cat back exaust, electric exaust cut out, NGK spark plugs, royal purple motor oil, and Zaino .Maybe more. I find more stuff done to it everytime I look at it.

If I remember correctly...not all WS6 came with discs all around. Some indeed come with drums out back. I'll find a site with the information.

www.thirdgen.org should have a breakdown of option levels and model designations.

It does but the rear drums bit is the tricky part...All 92 Formulas and TAs were WS6 cars. This one just so happens to be optioned with Drum rears. The weird thing is that the VIN shows it as a base firebird yet the rpo codes show it as a Formula.(5th digit is S which means base Firebird)
